Senior Cyber Security Specialist – IT & OT
What if your security expertise didn’t just support systems — but actively shaped how an organisation protects its most critical digital and operational assets?
For one of our long-term clients, we’re searching for a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to strengthen enterprise-wide security across both IT and OT domains. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with technical teams, leadership, and security operations to reduce risk and elevate cyber maturity.
The role
You’ll act as a key security partner across the organisation, combining hands-on expertise with strategic influence.
Your responsibilities include:
* Working with internal stakeholders to roll out security controls and mitigations across IT and OT landscapes
* Handling vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and incidents escalated by the Security Operations Centre
* Performing security assessments and technical reviews for both new developments and existing platforms
* Coordinating and managing penetration testing activities for applications and infrastructure
* Advising project and architecture teams on secure technology choices and design principles
* Leading phishing simulations and contributing to security awareness initiatives
* Reviewing and validating firewall configurations and network security controls
* Providing security input to governance and decision-making at senior level
Requirements
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a strong security foundation and the confidence to operate at both technical and organisational levels.
Ideally, you bring:
* A master’s degree in computer science, IT, or cybersecurity
* Extensive professional experience (10+ years), including a solid background in information security
* Practical experience in security assessments, testing, or security operations
* Broad knowledge of cloud security, network security, and communication protocols
* A strong grasp of identity and access management (IAM) concepts and solutions
* Exposure to OT security environments, or a clear motivation to deepen this expertise
* Relevant cybersecurity certifications (an advantage, not a must)
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
* A pragmatic, adaptable approach with a focus on results
* Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is highly beneficial
Benefits
What’s on offer
You’ll join a stable, well-established organisation that invests in security, technology, and people — with projects spanning critical infrastructure and large-scale digital environments.
The package includes:
* A competitive salary aligned with seniority and expertise
* Continuous learning and development opportunities
* Comprehensive insurance coverage
* Company car with charging card or alternative mobility options (including bike leasing)
* Meal and eco vouchers, allowances, bonus payments
* Smartphone, internet compensation, and modern work tools
* Extra paid leave, seniority days, and flexible working arrangements
* Access to a broad employee benefits platform (culture, sports, travel, and more)
