About the role
We are looking for an experienced Lead DT Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day Digital Technology operations for a major campus environment in Ghent. In this role, you will lead the local onsite support function, ensure a high-quality end-user technology experience, and oversee the smooth delivery of workplace and infrastructure-related services across the site.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong operational ownership with people management, stakeholder communication, and a solid workplace technology background. You will act as the local point of accountability for technology operations, while working closely with global Digital Technology teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Operational leadership
* Lead and coordinate the local onsite DT engineering/support team in Ghent
* Set priorities, manage workloads, and ensure service levels are met
* Act as the main escalation point for critical or recurring site-level IT issues
* Drive a culture of ownership, service excellence, and continuous improvement
Site technology oversight
* Oversee day-to-day site technology operations, including end-user devices, peripherals, meeting room technology, connectivity, and workplace services
* Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of business-critical DT services
* Coordinate local infrastructure upgrades, rollouts, and deployments in collaboration with global teams
* Support business continuity through effective operational planning and issue resolution
Asset, procurement, and lifecycle management
* Manage the procurement, deployment, tracking, and lifecycle of DT hardware assets
* Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with company standards
* Oversee timely provisioning and deprovisioning of hardware and software for joiners, movers, and leavers
* Coordinate hardware refresh cycles and support cost-conscious asset planning
Software and license management
* Manage global and local software license records in partnership with other Operations Managers
* Monitor license usage, renewals, and compliance with vendor agreements
* Identify opportunities to optimize software consumption and reduce unnecessary cost
Incident and service management
* Ensure prompt handling of support tickets and operational incidents
* Proactively identify root causes behind recurring issues and drive corrective actions
* Work cross-functionally with Security, Network, Infrastructure, and Application teams on more complex incidents
* Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base improvements
Compliance, security, and continuous improvement
* Ensure local operations are aligned with corporate IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements
* Support cybersecurity and data protection initiatives at site level
* Champion best practices in IT operations, workplace technology, and service delivery
* Explore opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, AI-enabled tooling, and smarter operational processes
What we are looking for
* 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, workplace technology, or IT operations
* Proven background in leading operational IT teams within a complex enterprise environment
* Experience managing onsite support or workplace services in a business-critical environment
* Strong track record in hardware lifecycle management, software licensing, and operational service delivery
* Experience leading or supporting technical projects and site rollouts
Technical knowledge
You bring strong knowledge across several of the following domains:
* Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams, SharePoint, and Office applications
* Microsoft Intune and Windows 11 deployment models
* Microsoft licensing models such as E3/E5
* Zoom, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Neat devices, and AV/collaboration technologies
* ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
* Identity and access tools such as Okta, Active Directory, and Windows Hello
* Apple MacBook environment and JAMF
* CMDB principles and asset/configuration management practices
Skills
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Able to simplify technical topics and align both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Strong operational mindset with a focus on service quality, accountability, and execution
* Comfortable working in an international environment across teams, regions, and time zones
* Good understanding of IT security and compliance requirements
Preferred
* Experience in a regulated environment such as biotech, pharma, or life sciences
* Familiarity with ITIL or ITSM frameworks; certification is a plus
* Project management experience
* Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
