Service description:Within the Group, Engineering is responsible for all infrastructure projects that meet requirements with respect to the development, expansion and renewal of the Belgian electricity transmission system between 30 and 380 kV.As a LV Designer Trainee, you will play a crucial role in the design and realization of various electric installations and systems.A project involves close collaboration with Project leaders, technicians (MAC), experts and sometimes external study offices.Our LV Designers work in a team of about 15 colleagues, where we consider the sharing of knowledge very important.- This traineeship takes 8 months. The rotation is as followed:2 months: Group Training basics Secondary Systems- 1,5 months: On-site technical training (MAC)- 1 month: Design tasks (New Year break)- 2,5 months: On-site technical training (MAC)- 1 month: Operational tasksGoal: To be able to start on your own first projects as a LV Designer by the end of the traineeship.During these 9 months you will receive coaching from a Senior Designer or Tester. This doesn’t stop with the end of the traineeship, but will continue.You will also have meetings on a weekly basis with your Designer Coordinator.The work of a Technical Designer is divided into 2 different phases:A) Tasks during study phase:Based on the project note, carry out a study to adjust standard plans to achieve the desired end result. Taking the Elia norms, standards and methods into account. Design this study with AutoCAD and perform quality control of the study.Discuss and solve problems together with the project leaderSending the drawings to the appropriate departmentsOption to participate in in-factory acceptance tests of the protection cubicles that are designed.B) Tasks during the construction phase:Following up on site issues related to the LV studyFinding solutions to LV problems on site, in consultation with the Project Leader and people on site (MAC)Service requirements:- You have a qualification in a relevant technical field. For example, electricity, electromechanics, automation or engineering.- You are interested in design activities and you are familiar with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD.- You are a team player with strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.- You have an eye for detail, work accurately and have strong planning and organisational skills.- You have a strong motivation to develop further and to gain expertise in your field.
