JOB DESCRIPTION:The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing supplier relationships and executing tactical purchasing strategies in alignment with Supplier Management Procedures. The role supports EDC's Supply Chain operations through onboarding of new suppliers, supplier performance analysis and financial reporting. Key stakeholders include operational teams, suppliers, business units, and packaging engineering teams.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the full procurement cycle from order placement to delivery, invoicing, and financial reportingManage supplier onboarding and participate in the evaluation (SCAR, periodic evaluation,...) and end-to-end performanceForecast purchasing needs based on historical data and business plansEnsure all activities comply with internal and external quality, environmental, safety, and health guidelinesEnsure compliance with supplier management procedures and maintain accurate system dataTrain internal stakeholders on purchasing policies and toolsValidate the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational dataContribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportingDrive operational efficiency and cost reduction through active project participationLead or support ad hoc purchasing and supplier management initiativesAlign purchasing goals with business objectives, long term sourcing strategies and supplier development.Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesEDUCATION & COMPETENCIESBachelor degree (Supply Chain, Economics,...) or equivalent by experienceMinimum 3 years of experience working in Purchasing, within a distribution environment is a strong assetDetailed knowledge of a major ERP system (SAP preferred)Excellent knowledge of office applications. Strong competencies in Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of ISO13485 is a strong assetFluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written) is necessary.
