Job Overview : Senior System Design Engineer (freelance)
For our client, active in the banking sector, we are looking for a Senior System Design Engineer with Elasticsearch Focus.
Key Responsibilities
* System Architecture & Design: Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical designs, carefully weighing trade-offs to ensure high performance and reliability.
* Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize a large-scale Linux-based environment, specifically focusing on the Elastic Stack and Elastic APM.
* Automation & Efficiency: Utilize Ansible and a \"continuous improvement\" mindset to automate manual tasks and streamline deployment workflows.
* Validation & Deployment: Ensure all designs comply with technical standards and support their seamless deployment to meet organizational goals.
* Proactive Innovation: Identify opportunities to evolve technology, manage capacity, and introduce new ideas to improve existing systems and services.
* Incident Resolution: Lead root-cause analysis for complex technical incidents and participate in an on-call rotation to ensure system stability.
* Technical Documentation: Maintain high-quality technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
Required Qualifications
* Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in system software and IT infrastructure.
* Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Linux, Elasticsearch, and Elastic APM.
* Automation: Proven experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
* Communication: Fluent in English (team language); proficiency in Dutch is considered a significant asset.
* On-Call Availability: Ability to participate in an on-call rotation. Experience with notification services (e.g., PagerDuty, Opsgenie) is a plus.
