Reporting to the CEO and autonomously manage files across areas of expertise
About Our Client Our client is a pension fund managing nearly 5 Bn€ AUM.
They oversee the technical, administrative, legal, financial, and actuarial aspects of pension schemes, either through multiple pension funds and/or through an affiliated insurance structure.
Moreover, they offer advisory services for companies and individuals on risk management, providing as well ongoing strategic insurance guidance.
Job Description As an Investment Manager, you will be part of a portfolio management team.
You will report directly to the CEO and autonomously manage files across various areas of expertise.
You will master one or more asset classes and quickly identify the key drivers of new or unfamiliar asset classes.
You will analyze the portfolio, its composition, asset performance, and implement rationalizations or diversifications when appropriate.
You will incorporate regulatory, accounting, and tax considerations into investment decision‑making.
You will prepare comprehensive documentation for investment committees and boards of directors.
You will negotiate fee structures with financial institutions and seek to optimize them.
You will support the CFO and CEO in representing the organization to internal and external stakeholders (clients, decision‑making bodies, regulators, working groups, etc.) in all matters related to financial asset management.
You will promote cooperation and teamwork in managing cross‑functional projects.
You will build and maintain trusting and collaborative relationships with internal teams.
You will also support the CFO with ad hoc topics related to accounting, budgeting, or the business model of the various managed entities.
The Successful Applicant A university degree or equivalent in economics, finance, or management engineering. A CFA or CAIA certification is considered an asset.
At least 10 years of solid experience in portfolio management and/or financial analysis.
Proven experience in:
Pension fund, asset management and Life insurance.
Selecting investment funds across multiple asset classes
Portfolio construction, including regulatory and tax considerations related to investments. Experience in ALM is a plus.
A long‑term investment perspective.
Experience in an insurance company, asset manager, or institutional investor is a strong plus.
Proficiency in French or Dutch, with solid command of the other national language; fluency in English.
Ability to present financial topics (macroeconomic environment, market developments, investment proposals, etc.) both orally and in writing, adapting communication to the audience.
Strong skills in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Bloomberg, and the ability to learn new systems as needed.
Autonomy combined with a strong team spirit.
Pragmatic, well‑organized, and highly analytical with strong quantitative skills.
Ability to manage several topics simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be assertive, particularly during negotiations.
