Job Title: Sr. Quality Engineer - Design for Scale (DfS)
Amazon's Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging organization (MSP) is seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Quality Engineer to join the DfS Quality team. This role reports to the Manager of Quality within MSP DfS and involves driving quality engineering best practices, supporting supplier audits, root cause analysis, and developing quality processes to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support and foster an inclusive culture.
2. Develop product quality engagement strategies from development through operations.
3. Support supplier qualification and process improvements.
4. Create and review qualification documents such as PFMEAs, Control Plans, and DFM.
5. Implement automation solutions to reduce costs and risks.
6. Scale supplier quality systems to handle increased volumes.
7. Conduct supplier audits and participate in CAPAs and design changes.
8. Identify failure trends, perform failure analysis, and drive corrective actions.
9. Manage supplier change requests and participate in strategic sourcing.
10. Lead supplier audits based on ISO 9001 standards.
11. Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
12. Lead process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* 8+ years of experience in Supplier/Product Quality Engineering.
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
* Experience with quality tools such as 8D, DOE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, etc.
* Effective communication skills for global stakeholder engagement.
* Knowledge of industry standards like ISO 9001 or AS9100.
* Practical experience implementing QMS.
* Engineering or Business Master’s degree (preferred).
* Experience with commodity areas such as metals, plastics, electronics, sensors, etc.
* Certifications such as ASQ, PMP, or auditor certifications (preferred).
* Knowledge of CAD, GD&T, PLM systems, and statistical software.
