About the Role
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a business development strategy for public sector infrastructure projects.
* Develop, lead, and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth in the public sector infrastructure market.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within public authorities to identify new opportunities and foster collaboration.
* Lead and coordinate tender processes to ensure alignment with client expectations and internal operational teams.
* Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, positioning the organization as a preferred partner in complex infrastructure projects.
* Lead a team of sales professionals to maximize performance, motivation, and results.
* Contribute to strategic decision-making in collaboration with operational and commercial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and analyze team performance to inform commercial approaches.
* Tender Management: Lead and coordinate tender processes from initial stages through to award and contract execution.
* Team Leadership: Guide and manage a team of 6 people (3 sales assistants & 3 sales professionals) and support staff to achieve optimal performance and motivation.
* Business Development: Identify new market opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and develop strategic partnerships.
Requirements
* Sales and Business Development Experience: Proven experience in sales, business development, or tender management within the infrastructure engineering sector.
* Network and Relationships: Strong network within the public sector and municipalities in Belgium, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
* Leadership and Team Management: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving shared goals.
* Languages: Fluency in Dutch and English, with knowledge of French being a strong asset.
* CRM Tools: Familiarity with CRM tools to track and manage sales activities, customer interactions, and relationship-building efforts.
