YOUR TASKS
The postdoctoral researcher will assist in preparing the critical edition of Francesco di Giorgio's Opusculum de architectura (c for publication. This includes reviewing, writing and editing the individual catalogue entries on manuscript copies after the Opusculum (c The researcher will also pursue primary and secondary source research in libraries and archives in Florence and Siena. Strong abilities in fifteenth- and sixteenth-century Italian paleography are required, as is strong competency in codicology and the material-focused examination of drawings on paper and parchment.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* You hold a Ph.D. in the field of early modern art and architectural history, with a focus on central Italy.
* You have expertise codicology, paleography and translation (Italian-English; Latin-English).
* You have general IT skills (Word, Microsoft Drive, etc.)
* You work well in collaboration with others and respect internal deadlines.
* You are able and willing to travel.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
* We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 6 months.
* Your contract will start on 01/12/2025 at the earliest.
