Position
The Information Security Officer aims to ensure secure operation of our information systems and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
We are looking for an experienced Information Security Officer to establish, implement, and maintain a robust information security program within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing security requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and proactively managing risks to protect our data, systems, and infrastructure. This role requires a strategic mindset, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to embed security best practices into our operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our security framework, improving our policies and procedures and to ensure independence will report directly to the Managing Director.
* Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)
* Start date: Quarter 2, 2025.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain information security requirements and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
* Implement information security solutions in coordination with system administrators
* Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across the organisation to ensure a proactive security posture
* Ensure adherence to relevant security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and support audits and compliance initiatives
* Develop and deliver security awareness programs to Employees regarding cybersecurity best practices and threats
* Lead the investigation, containment, and resolution of security incidents, including forensic analysis and post-incident reviews
* Conduct regular security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans, ensuring timely remediation of identified risks
* Oversee user access rights, authentication mechanisms, and privileged account management
* Stay up to date with emerging threats, monitor security logs and alerts, and implement proactive threat detection measures
* Assess and manage security risks associated with vendors, partners, and cloud services
* Provide regular reports to leadership on security risks, incidents, and program effectiveness.
Skills and Experience
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in most of the requirement fields
* Very good knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and SOC 2
* Experience in identifying, analysing, and mitigating security risks
* Hands-on experience managing security incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing response strategies
* Familiarity with network security, firewalls, SIEM solutions, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies
* Fluent in English good knowledge of Dutch or French

Considered as Assets
* Experience in implementing IAM solutions, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and least-privilege access models
* Knowledge of penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, threat intelligence, and security monitoring
* Understanding of security best practices for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Ability to develop and deliver security awareness training for employees at all levels
