I’m partnering with a leading international data‑centre operator delivering a large‑scale hyperscale facility in Belgium, and we are looking to appoint an experienced Geotechnical Quantity Surveyor & Project Controls Manager to take ownership of commercial management and controls across the groundworks and early‑stage construction scope.
This is a senior, delivery‑focused role within a mission‑critical environment, suited to a commercially astute professional with strong experience in geotechnical works, complex civils packages, and cost control on large infrastructure or data‑centre projects.
Position overview
* Location: Belgium (site‑based)
* Contract: Freelance | 12 months | Strong potential for extension
* Start: ASAP
* Language: English essential; French or Dutch beneficial
* Eligibility: EU‑based professionals or those with the right to work independently in Belgium
Role responsibilities
* Commercial management of groundworks, piling, earthworks, and civils packages
* Cost control, forecasting, change management, and reporting aligned to programme and risk
* Contract administration, valuations, variations, and commercial governance
* Supporting procurement strategy, value engineering, and risk mitigation initiatives
* Acting as a key interface between client, contractors, consultants, and project leadership
* You will work closely with construction, design, and planning teams to ensure geotechnical delivery is fully integrated with the wider data‑centre programme.
Experience required
* Experience as a Geotechnical QS, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or Project Controls Manager on large‑scale infrastructure, data‑centre, industrial, or mission‑critical projects
* A strong background in ground engineering and civil works delivery
* Proven capability in cost forecasting, risk management, and commercial reporting
* Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, or comparable contract forms
* A structured, detail‑driven approach and confidence operating in fast‑paced, high‑value project environments
