A leading company in Belgium is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join its expanding R&D team. The Senior Hardware Engineer will play a key role in the design, development and validation of high‑performance electronic systems used to support advanced sensor products. This Senior Hardware Engineer position involves PCB design, board bring‑up, mixed‑signal hardware development and close collaboration with ASIC, firmware and software teams.
The Senior Hardware Engineer will be responsible for defining hardware architectures for evaluation boards, prototyping new designs, and ensuring reliable operation of high‑speed digital and analogue interfaces. The role also includes supporting product characterisation, test automation and working with external manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop mixed signal and high‑speed digital PCBs for sensor evaluation and production support
* Perform schematic capture, component selection, layout guidance and board bring‑up
* Integrate FPGA, microcontroller and power‑management subsystems into robust hardware platform
* Support lab validation, debugging, test development and characterisation activities
* Collaborate with ASIC, software and systems teams to define hardware requirements and resolve technical issues
* Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure DFM/DFT compliance and board reliability
* Contribute to continuous improvement of hardware tools, workflows and documentation
Requirements
* Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field
* Several years' experience in hardware design including mixed‑signal and high‑speed digital
* Strong experience with PCB design tools (e.g. Altium)
* Good understanding of signal integrity, power integrity and EMI/EMC considerations
* Experience with FPGA or microcontroller‑based systems
* Hands‑on lab debugging, measurement and validation skills
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
