We’re partnering with a growing tech company based in Limburg that’s looking for a
Data Lead
to take ownership of their data platform and help shape their data strategy as they scale.
The Role: As a Data Lead, you’ll combine hands-on engineering with strategic oversight. You’ll be responsible for building and evolving scalable data systems while guiding best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities Own the design and architecture of scalable, reliable data platforms Lead the development of robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows Define and implement data architecture standards (Data Mesh, Data Fabric, etc.) Drive adoption of cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Establish and enforce data quality, governance, and compliance frameworks Optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of data systems Integrate and unify data from multiple internal and external sources Partner with AI/ML teams to deliver production-ready datasets Introduce monitoring, testing, and reliability best practices Mentor and support data engineers (or help build the team over time)
Your Profile 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with exposure to leadership or ownership Strong SQL expertise and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) Proficiency in Python (or similar languages like Java/Scala) Experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, etc.) Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Experience with batch and/or real-time pipelines (e.g., Kafka) Solid understanding of data modeling and warehouse design Experience supporting AI/ML data workflows Familiarity with modern data architectures (Data Mesh / Data Fabric) Bonus: prior experience mentoring or leading projects/teams
