What you do
Production Scheduling (short term planning)
1. Prepare and update detailed schedules for coating, finishing, inspection and slitting activities.
2. Prioritize production orders based on the company’s planning strategy, customer commitments, order urgency, and available capacity.
3. Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts, considering machine availability, technical specifications, and raw materials/base fabric readiness.
4. Optimize sequence planning to reduce changeover time, minimize waste, and improve production flow.
5. Call off of base fabric as critical component in the scheduling process.
Operational Coordination
6. Maintain close interaction with Production, Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain, R&D and Quality to align demand and execution.
7. Communicate schedule plans, constraints, and changes clearly to all involved departments.
8. Adjust the schedule proactively in case of technical issues, machine downtime, R&D demands or any other urgent request.
9. Close collaboration with intercompany suppliers (weaving mills).
Customer-Centric Planning
10. Integrate customer priorities and service levels (OTIF) into daily and weekly planning decisions.
11. Ensure that delivery promises are based on accurate capacity assessments and realistic production timings.
12. Support special orders and customized product specifications with a high degree of flexibility.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
13. Track scheduling performance indicators such as schedule adherence, OTIF, and changeover frequency.
14. Analyse recurring issues, constraints, and bottlenecks to propose improvements in planning and scheduling processes.
15. Contribute to cross-functional improvement initiatives that enhance flexibility and production efficiency.
Who you are
Technical Skills
16. Strong scheduling capabilities in a multi-step continuous production environment.
17. Computer competency, including ERP systems and/or other planning tools (e.g., APS, SAP, IBP) and strong proficiency in Excel.
18. Analytical ability to interpret production data and translate it into actionable planning decisions.
19. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address constraints and unexpected disruptions.
Organizational Skills
20. High level of organization when managing multiple orders, priorities, and work centres.
21. Strong time-management and multitasking abilities in a dynamic MTO context.
22. Ability to work independently with a proactive and self-motivated attitude.
Communication & Collaboration
23. Clear and effective communication skills to align cross-functional teams.
24. Ability to collaborate closely with customer-facing and operational departments.
25. Consistency in sharing relevant schedule information to support smooth production execution.
Qualifications
26. Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Production Planning or equivalent through experience in an industrial environment.
27. Minimum 5 years experience with production scheduling in a manufacturing organization.
28. Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement is beneficial.
