The Vice President, Europe Main plays a key role in driving commercial growth, operational excellence, and strategic leadership across Cochlear’s Europe Main Hub. This includes full P&L accountability, sales and marketing leadership, team development, and the execution of business strategies across Benelux, Central Europe, and the Nordics. As a senior leader on the EMEA Leadership Team, the Vice President will lead regional transformation initiatives and ensure alignment with global objectives while maximising performance in a highly regulated healthcare environment. The Opportunity Cochlear has an opportunity for a full-time Vice President, Europe Main based in our Mechelen, Belgium office. In this role, the successful candidate will oversee commercial strategy and operational execution across key European markets. The Vice President will lead General Managers of three sales hubs (Benelux, Central Europe, Nordics) and directly manage the Director of Marketing, Europe Main. They will ensure effective resource allocation, excellence in sales and customer engagement, and long-term market leadership in the hearing implant space. The role requires strong leadership across sales, marketing, and market access functions, as well as close collaboration with regional and global colleagues to drive sustainable growth. Responsibilities include: Lead strategic and commercial planning across the Europe Main Hub, translating global and regional strategy into effective local execution. Drive sales excellence and commercial performance, ensuring revenue growth, market share gains, and customer satisfaction across key countries. Manage and develop a high-performing leadership team across General Managers and regional marketing, fostering collaboration, accountability, and execution. Oversee Europe Main Hub marketing in partnership with EMEA and Global Marketing, ensuring aligned and locally relevant campaigns and strategies. Provide direct leadership in sales process transformation—shifting the culture from clinical support to strategic sales performance. Collaborate closely with regional Government Affairs and Market Access teams to strengthen reimbursement access and influence public policy. Develop and manage commercial partnerships, distributor relationships, and key opinion leader (KOL) engagement to ensure strong market presence and advocacy. Represent the Europe Main Hub on the EMEA Leadership Team, contributing to broader regional decisions, budget planning, and long-term strategic growth initiatives. What makes this opportunity unique? This is a high-impact leadership role within Cochlear’s fastest-growing region, offering full P&L responsibility and cross-functional oversight across multiple European markets. The position provides broad exposure to sales, marketing, operations, and market access, and plays a key role in driving regional strategy and growth. About You To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Essential skills: A higher business education or university degree. A proven record of at least 8 years in sales, marketing, or business development in a senior role within the medical device industry (e.g., chronic healthcare, surgical area). 10 years of management experience across different functions or in a similar general management role. Demonstrated success in leading commercial teams and managing P&Ls. In-depth understanding of health systems within the region. Competencies in Government Affairs, Market Access, and Health Economics / Funding & Reimbursement. Strong leadership, people management, and organizational development skills, with a track record of managing large teams. Excellent communication, influencing, and collaborative skills to build relationships with a broad set of stakeholders. Strong customer focus, both B2B and B2C. Dynamic and results oriented. Ability to work effectively across a global business and demonstrate cultural sensitivity. Resilient and emotionally intelligent. Fluency in English. Ideal skills: An educational background that combines scientific and commercial disciplines, such as an MBA. Prior exposure to and familiarity with regulatory affairs and policy competencies. Experience with implantable hearing solutions. International working experience. Prior experience overseeing a distributor market.
