VASS BeNeLux is currently seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to work for a project within the European Commission. The role: Creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses) for the EC grant management system, including data ingestion, processing, and storage Develop and maintain data pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi, Apache Beam, or AWS Kinesis Design and implement data governance, data quality, and data security principles to ensure compliance with EU regulations such as GDPR Gathering business requirements Designing and implementing ETL processes Data modelling Physical DB design DB performance analysis Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes Elaboration of test programs Writing technical documentation Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system Participation in meetings with other project teams And you? Excellent knowledge and experience of data lake/data lakehouse design and architecture (Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark, or AWS with Amazon S3) Excellent knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle or Postsgres) Excellent knowledge of SQL Excellent knowledge of ETL (Apache NiFi and Apache Beam) Experience with languages like R, Python, PERL. Knowledge of non-relational database technologies (MungoDB) Excellent knowledge of modelling tools Good knowledge of cloud-based business intelligence design. Knowledge of near real time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies. Ability to lead and participate in multilingual meetings Ability to understand, speak and write English (French is an asset) Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously Excellent communication skills, ability to understand and be understood, to analyse and summarize issues, tackle complex problems and follow-up resolution Ability to work with high attention to detail and methodologically (follow naming conventions and coding standards) Ability to design and implement data governance strategies and open data protocols while ensuring compliance with EU regulations like GDPR. - Knowledge of following tools: Atlassian Jira / Open Project; Atlassian Confluence / xWiki; MS Teams SPECIFIC EXPERTISE Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks: At least 5 years of specific expertise with Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark for building data lakes. At least 8 years of specific expertise developing and maintaining data pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi and Apache Beam or scripting languages like PERL or python to facilitate ETL processes and real-time streaming data. At least 10 years of specific expertise with Data Modelling and Data Governance, Data modelling tools and relational database systems using SQL.
