Role Overview
In this freelance role, you will be a key advisor and delivery lead on Business Central implementations with a primary focus on finance. You will work closely with clients’ finance and accounting teams to design, configure, and optimize Business Central to support core financial operations, compliance, and reporting requirements, including PEPPOL e-invoicing integration.
This position offers the opportunity to work on mid-market and enterprise-level projects across sectors, with the stability of a 12-month+ engagement and potential extensions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead client workshops to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to:
* General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
* Dimensions and financial analytics
* Accounts Payable and Receivable
* Cash Management and Bank Reconciliation
* Fixed Assets
* VAT, Intrastat, and statutory reporting
* Design and configure Dynamics 365 Business Central finance modules end-to-end.
* Implement and test electronic invoicing (PEPPOL) integrations, ensuring compliance with Belgian legislation and client-specific workflows.
* Develop functional specifications for any required customizations, reports, or third-party integrations (e.g., payroll, banking solutions).
* Oversee data migration, including mapping and validation of master and transactional finance data.
* Prepare and execute test plans; coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with client finance stakeholders.
* Deliver end-user training and create high-quality process and configuration documentation.
* Provide go-live support and post-implementation stabilization assistance.
* Act as a trusted advisor to client finance teams, recommending improvements and best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum 4 years of experience as a Functional Consultant implementing Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV) solutions.
* Deep functional knowledge of:
* Belgian GAAP, VAT rules, and statutory reporting requirements.
* Finance operations processes in mid-sized and enterprise companies.
* Proven experience configuring electronic invoicing via PEPPOL in Belgium.
* Strong business analysis skills with the ability to translate requirements into system design.
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
* Fluent in English and Dutch or French.
