Our customer is a a leading international industrial organization seeking a strategic HR Director to join its leadership team at one of its key manufacturing sites in Belgium. This is a leadership opportunity to shape a high-impact HR strategy and foster a strong, inclusive workplace culture for a diverse workforce of over 800 employees across operations and management.
Job Description
As HR Director, you will be a strategic partner to site leadership, driving the people agenda and leading a passionate HR team. You'll play a pivotal role in strengthening employee engagement, advancing talent initiatives, and ensuring alignment with global standards and local requirements.
- Define and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives and site priorities.
- Champion a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Lead core HR programs across talent acquisition, development, performance, and employee relations.
- Ensure full compliance with Belgian labor laws and international HR standards.
- Act as a key advisor to management on workforce planning, union relations, and organizational development.
- Lead, coach, and inspire an on-site HR team to deliver excellent service and support.
- Monitor HR KPIs and drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
- Stay ahead of HR trends and innovations to help shape the future of work at the site.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 8 years of experience in HR managerial roles, in large industrial or manufacturing settings
- Proven experience working with unionized environments and managing complex employee relations
- Strong leadership skills with people-first mindset
- Demonstrated track record in managing strategic projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels
- Proven ability to navigate and influence within large matrix organizations
- Analytical thinker with a track record of using data to influence decisions
- Fluency in French and English required (both oral and written).
