For a major EU Institution, we are looking for a hands-on eDiscovery Specialist to support complex investigations in the field of competition law.
Role
As an eDiscovery Specialist, these are the main tasks that you'll be responsible for:
• Manage complex eDiscovery projects within the field of competition law
• Identify evidence from documents submitted by companies under investigation
• Guide and validate the identification, collection and processing stages, and managing the review and analysis stages of the Electronic Discovery Reference
• Handle large data sets while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and Case Team requirements
• Provide expert guidance and best practices for data filtering, clustering and advanced analytics, including data culling
• Offer strategic advice and practical support to case handlers by shaping the eDiscovery strategy in each case, delivering expert training on digital tools and techniques to improve case efficiency, and coordinating with IT representatives from investigated companies to ensure proper data identification, collection and processing
• Project management tasks, from planning to final production, and collaborate with both internal and external teams to ensure technical and procedural solutions that meet the needs of the operational units
• Engage in policy development related to eDiscovery
Technical Skills:
• Great expertise with eDiscovery process
• IT Background in Forensics/Data Science/related field
• Solid experience with eDiscovery tools (Nuix, Reveal, Brainspace, Relativity)
• Experience in managing complex data projects across all stages of the eDiscovery Reference Model (EDRM)
• Strong skills in Project Management
• Deep understanding of Data collection, processing, review and analysis
• Significant expertise with Python/PowerShell for automating tasks
• Knowledge of RegEx for complex searches,, batch processing of large datasets
• Great Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, VBA), knowledge of file formats (e.g. PST/OST, PDF, TIFF, CSV) and experience in large data extraction and transformation
• Experience with Digital forensics is an asset
• Able to communicate and explain technical process to non-technical stakeholders
Education:
• University degree in a related field
Languages:
• Excellent knowledge of English - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
• Additional languages are a plus
