Are you looking for a challenging opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in biomarker discovery and neurological disorders?
We are seeking a highly motivated doctoral scholarship holder to join our interdisciplinary project investigating the effects of food allergy on gut-brain communication and brain inflammation.
The successful candidate will work closely with experts in food allergy, neuroimmunology, and computational biology to uncover the molecular and cellular pathways linking the allergic gut to the inflamed brain.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct research on biomarker discovery in neurological disorders
* Collaborate with experts in food allergy, neuroimmunology, and computational biology
* Characterize immune cell responses and construct spatial maps of inflammation along the gut-brain axis
Requirements:
* A Master's degree in immunology, neuroscience, or related disciplines
* FELASA certification
* Ideal prior experience in bioinformatics and computational biology
* Strong interest in immune-brain interactions and food allergy-related immunology
* Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
* A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm to work in an international environment
What We Offer:
* A stimulating and dynamic research environment
* Dedicated training programs available through VIB and UAntwerp to broaden your expertise
* A strong network of international collaborators
