About The Role:
Draganfly Innovations is on the lookout for a Field Application Specialist (FAS), Team Lead to lead and support our Field Application team while serving as a senior technical ambassador for our UAS platforms. In this role, you’ll oversee product demonstrations, customer training, and field operations—ensuring customers experience our systems at their full potential from first interaction through successful adoption. You’ll also mentor and guide FAS team members, helping drive consistency, quality, and operational excellence across all engagements.
This is a remote position with significant travel across the West Coast of the United States, so candidates must reside within the region. It is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced field environments, enjoys leading from the front, and excels in customer-facing technical roles.
Key Responsibilities
UAS Operations & Team Leadership
* Lead and support Field Application Specialists, providing mentorship and day-to-day guidance
* Conduct in-person and virtual product demonstrations for prospects and partners
* Act as the primary on-site subject matter expert for Draganfly systems
* Standardize and improve demo and training playbooks across the team
* Oversee scheduling, deployment, and readiness of FAS resources
* Maintain and manage demo systems and equipment to ensure field readiness
* Deliver hands‑on and virtual customer training sessions
* Ensure safe, compliant flight operations across all activities
* Support testing, special projects, and operational deployments
Events & Trade Shows
* Represent Draganfly at industry events, trade shows, and customer demonstrations
* Lead live demos, presentations, and customer engagement activities
* Support event logistics including setup, teardown, and technical preparation
* Coordinate FAS team coverage for events and demos
* Lead pre‑event preparation and post‑event debriefs
Interdepartmental Support
* Document customer feedback, feature requests, and technical insights
* Partner with Sales on technical scoping and customer qualification
* Support proposal development and customer‑facing materials
* Collaborate with Product and Operations to improve customer experience
* Deliver internal training sessions for sales, marketing, and partner teams
* Track and report on team activities, performance, and engagement outcomes

Qualifications
* FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required)
* 4+ years in UAS operations or product application roles
* Experience conducting customer training or technical demonstrations
* Experience leading or mentoring teams in dynamic environments
* Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with mission planning and payloads
* Comfortable with frequent travel (50‑60%)
* Experience with MAVLink‑based systems is an asset
* Proficiency with CRM and collaboration tools (HubSpot, Teams, SharePoint)
Preferred Specializations
* Public Safety: DFR, SAR, tactical operations, disaster response
* Commercial: Inspections, surveying, photogrammetry, logistics
Compensation package
* Competitive salary: $75,000 – $85,000 USD
