Job description
As assistant construction manager you will work closely together with the construction manager on day-to-day tasks. Furthermore, you are responsible for the preparation and follow-up of the ongoing works on the various international construction sites. You will be part of the construction team and will work closely with the multidisciplinary project team, the construction manager, the international site construction managers and the local logistics team.
Your tasks will be varied and depend on the different team needs and phases of a project. Therefore you will:
1. participate in meetings regarding the day-to-day operations of the logistics team
2. audit and select potential contractors for execution of the works
3. ensure contractor debriefings and evaluations
4. provide the project team all construction services and required deliverables for the construction phase;
5. be responsible for the development of construction execution plans, site mobilization plans, construction scopes and bid packages;
6. conduct constructability reviews to facilitate the construction works;
7. develop construction plannings to synchronize activities;
8. negotiate and optimize contractor scopes and prepare price comparisons;
9. assist the HSE-manager with the development of HSE plans and preparation of HSE related tasks ( LOTO, LMRA, Toolboxes,…);
10. assist the site manager during the installation phase;
11. visit client sites.
Your profile
12. You possess a technical degree from a higher education (Master/Bachelor) or equivalent by relevant experience.
13. You have experience with managing and organizing mechanical construction sites, the corresponding materials, safety and quality regulations.
14. You like to work in a team, consult and discuss with colleagues and take on the lead when necessary.
15. You are organizationally strong and work in a structured way. This allows you to process the administration efficiently with MS Office, Sharepoint and other internal programs.
16. You have strong communication skills and speak fluent Dutch and English, knowledge of German is an asset.
