Job Description
Based on site in Charleroi, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project engineering associated with the mechanical subcontract package, including design development and engineering, value engineering, field support, engineering quality control, technical reviews and procurement, testing, commissioning & startup, for a large value hyper‑scale Data Centre. The role reports to the Project Manager – Mechanical and requires the management of the mechanical engineering team and coordination with in‑house commissioning & quality teams and the in‑house electrical team to ensure system design requirements are coordinated and delivered. The mechanical engineer will review all equipment technical submittals to ensure they meet the design requirements.
Skills and Requirements
* Mechanical degree qualified
* Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems and products
* Excellent communication and reporting skills
* Minimum 8 years experience in mechanical roles with at least 3 years in a lead role
* Understanding of project planning, construction sequencing and critical path
* Previous experience working in Germany an advantage but not essential
* Sound understanding of mechanical and HVAC system commissioning & startup
* Knowledge in BMS systems an advantage
