We're Hiring: Device Engineer (Medical Devices) | Belgium
Are you a hands‐on (electro-)mechanical engineering professional with experience in medical devices, design controls, and precision testing equipment? This is your chance to shape high‐performance device solutions within an innovative R&D environment.
The Role
As a Device Engineer, you'll contribute directly to the design, development, build, and validation of in-house test setups, fixtures, and prototypes. You'll work closely with device engineers while independently executing tests, analysing data, and improving documentation and systems.
Your work will include:
* Designing, developing, and validating test setups, jigs, and fixtures for precision components
* Conducting mechanical and functional testing on devices and subassemblies
* Using 3D CAD, 3D printing technologies, and CNC milling to create prototypes
* Developing and improving test methods to boost reliability and repeatability
* Maintaining lab equipment and ensuring safe, efficient operations
* Preparing samples for external partners and supporting cross‐functional collaboration
What We're Actively Looking For
Medical Device Experience
Strong Design Control & Design Process Skills
* Experience with documentation supporting ISO‐aligned design phases
* Ability to develop testing equipment, validation tools, and precision fixtures
Lean Six Sigma Engineering Background
* Experience applying structured problem-solving methods
* Ability to streamline processes, reduce variation, and improve documentation quality
Assembly Design Experience
* Understanding of mechanical assembly principles for small, precision‐engineered devices
Ability to Improve Systems & Documentation
* Someone comfortable implementing new processes
* Able to create clarity, structure, and efficiency in documentation practices
Essential Skills & Profile
* Degree in (electro-)mechanical engineering or experience in a physical test lab
* Strong hands‐on technical profile
* Skilled in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
* Experienced with rapid prototyping tools (FDM/resin printing, CNC, workshop tools)
* Self‐driven, analytical, and organised
* Strong English communication skills
* Team player who enjoys a practical, problem-solving environment
Location
This role is based in Belgium within an R&D and engineering environment.
