As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical coordination and system-level activities throughout the different phases of a product's development cycle, from concept and pre-project definition to customer delivery.
You will plan, analyse, and integrate multiple system capabilities into cohesive solutions that enhance overall design and performance. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-tech R&D projects within a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Define and structure system architectures into functional blocks.
- Draft technical documentation such as equipment or system specifications, test instructions, and validation procedures.
- Identify and propose design improvements, product optimizations, and reuse opportunities.
- Oversee system design, implementation, testing, and certification activities.
- Collaborate with the System Architect, Design Authority, industrialization, production, and purchasing teams, as well as with suppliers and customers.
- Act as an escalation point for system-related issues.
- Participate in test campaigns (including on-site or field testing when applicable).
- Contribute to continuous improvement by documenting and sharing best practices across teams.
- Stay informed on new technologies and development methods to support innovation.
Profile / Requirements :
- Master's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant first experience as a System Engineer in a multidisciplinary or R&D environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with a pragmatic and creative approach to problem-solving.
- Eager to work with cutting-edge technologies and to continuously learn.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French or Dutch.
