This assignment requires a strong combination of strategic architecture expertise, hands-on technical knowledge, and stakeholder management skills.Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Architecture & Cloud StrategyDesign and maintain enterprise infrastructure architectures based on Microsoft technologies.Define infrastructure standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business and operational objectives.Lead infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.Systems & Platform IntegrationSupport the integration of enterprise applications with operational environments.Design secure and reliable architectures connecting business and operational systems.Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of critical applications and services.Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to align technology solutions with operational needs.Microsoft Technology LeadershipArchitect and optimize Azure and hybrid cloud environments.Design identity and access management solutions using modern security principles.Implement and enhance Microsoft security and endpoint management solutions.Lead Microsoft 365 architecture and collaboration platform initiatives.Security & ComplianceEnsure infrastructure solutions align with cybersecurity and compliance requirements.Implement secure network segmentation and access control strategies.Support vulnerability management, patching, monitoring, and risk mitigation initiatives.Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.Stakeholder CollaborationAct as a trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders.Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Provide architectural guidance throughout project lifecycles.Support and mentor technical teams where required.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent through relevant experience.Minimum 8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering and systems architecture.Proven experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and hybrid cloud environments.Strong expertise in Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and related Microsoft technologies.Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.Familiarity with enterprise application environments and system integrations.Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred CertificationsMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect ExpertMicrosoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect ExpertTOGAFITILCISSPKey SkillsEnterprise ArchitectureMicrosoft Azure & Hybrid CloudInfrastructure ModernizationCybersecurity & Zero TrustDisaster Recovery & Business ContinuityDigital TransformationStrategic PlanningStakeholder ManagementProject LeadershipContract DetailsFreelance assignmentStart: September 2026Duration: Approximately 110 man-daysLocation: West FlandersFlexible hybrid working modelDutch and English requiredInterested?
