Responsibilities
* Define and align the design and implementation of a private satellite communication solution in collaboration with contractors and stakeholders
* Cover aspects such as data traffic management, network management systems, central hub supervision, antenna and modem installation, cabling and power, application connectivity, and transportable terminals
* Act as a technical expert to review, challenge and validate contractor proposals and resolve issues
* Serve as a central point of contact and support internal teams in adopting the technology
* Develop and execute acceptance testing plans
* Prepare technical documentation, procedures and rollout guideline
* Support project planning and prioritization with the project manager and stakeholders
* Participate in project meetings to monitor progress, identify risks and resolve issues
* Contribute to and validate bill of materials proposals
* Report on project progress, risks and issues
* Work within a telecom environment including fibre, copper and leased connections
* Use technologies such as PDH, SDH, DWDM and IP/MPLS
* Support networks for telephony, operational systems, data centres and substations
* Contribute to migration from TDM to packet-based technologies such as Ethernet, IP and MPLS
* Ensure secure connectivity using firewalls, VPNs and DMZs
* Interface with external utility networks and operators
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in telecommunications engineering or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of private satellite communication technology is preferred
* Experience with satellite or microwave communication implementation is preferred
* Ability to quickly understand and apply new technologies
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with network design, implementation and technical documentation
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and work in a structured manner
* Team player with a willingness to share knowledge
* Leadership and proactive mindset
* Project management and reporting skills
Language and Other
* Fluent in Dutch, French and English
* Valid driver’s license (Category B)
