Role descriptionYou will lead technology development & integration at an early-stage robotics startup dedicated to integrating humanoid robots into real-world industrial environments, such as factories, warehouses, and logistics centers. You will work with the state-of-the-art humanoid robots (such as Unitree) to lease them to enterprise clients as an end-to-end service (Hardware + Software + Maintenance). You will be responsible for the pilot application engineering: taking the humanoid robots to industrial sites, conducting feasibility studies, training the robots for specific tasks at the sites, and deploying them with the customer. Once the pilot phase is complete, you will transition to supervising the engineering team, continuously improving the software platform, scaling the team, and shaping the company's technical strategy. This position is in the early-stage startup environment. You should be ready for ambiguity, tight schedules, shifting priorities, rapid iteration, and taking responsibility for executive-level decisions that shape the final product-market fit. Visa: Visa sponsorship is availableEquity: 10% and upSalary: €90k gross per yearWork arrangement: hybrid/on-siteWork location: Brussels, frequent travel ResponsibilitiesLead the physical deployment of humanoid robots at client sites: directly interfacing with humanoid robots (like Unitree), configuring robots for client-specific tasks, and supervising integration of robots at factories, production floors, and warehouses.Oversee and improve the AI Copilot (natural language to robot motion), guide the architecture for motion generation, simulation environments, and reinforcement learning pipelines.Shape business decisions, product roadmaps, and technical strategy. Main requirementsExpertise with configuring and integrating humanoid robots into real-world applications like factories, production, or logistics.Excellent technical skills in humanoid robots, their mechanical/mechatronic components, and control systems – you know what broke in the robot and how to fix it. Other requirementsExcellent technical skills in robotics engineering, software simulation, and motion planning.Experience with reinforcement learning pipelines (PPO, SAC) and/or imitation learning.Strong Python skills.Comfortable working with physics engines/simulation environments (MuJoCo, Isaac Sim/Lab, or similar).Comfortable working with Linux, Docker, and GPU compute (NVIDIA).English fluency. Nice to have, but not mandatoryExperience with Unitree robots.Familiarity with NVIDIA GR00T, Newton, or ROS2.Experience with URDF/MJCF model creation.Full-stack web development skills (React, FastAPI).Published research in robotics or ML for robotics.Conversational Dutch and/or French are an advantage.
