The Mission: Engineering at Core
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will own the "engine" of their platform. You will be responsible for the systems that ensure transparency in global supply chains for over 2,000 international clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Architecture & Design: Own the backend architecture of JavaScript-based solutions, optimizing for performance, reliability, and security.
* Core Infrastructure: Contribute to a cutting-edge, serverless ecosystem (Custom Hub) that handles infrastructure, scaling, and failover natively.
* Complex Workflows: Develop and automate intricate compliance workflows that transform legal requirements into scalable code.
* Technical Strategy: Lead decision-making on microservices and library design, ensuring the system remains maintainable as we scale the Madrid Hub from 20 to 100+ engineers.
* Quality & Mentoring: Maintain high standards through rigorous code reviews and mentoring junior/mid-level developers.
Who are you? (Requirements)
We are looking for an engineer with a Product Mindset—someone who cares about the business impact of their code. Stability is key for our management team.
* Experience: 6+ years in Backend development with a deep focus on Node.js and TypeScript.
* Ecosystem Mastery: Expert knowledge of web services (REST, GraphQL), database design, and asynchronous patterns.
* Product Background: You come from product-owned companies (SaaS, FinTech, Marketplaces). We are looking for long-term builders, not consultants.
* English Proficiency: Excellent communication skills (C1) as you will collaborate daily with our German HQ.
* Frontend Knowledge: (Optional) While this is a Backend-focused role, having a basic understanding of React is a "nice to have."
