Freelance Data Engineer (Contract) Must be Based in Belgium
Location: Brussels, Belgium (1 day per week onsite)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Data Engineer to support ongoing data and financial data management initiatives. This role focuses on maintaining high-quality data pipelines and supporting financial data processes within a Technology Business Management (TBM) environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain financial data pipelines (including General Ledger, vendor, labor, and asset data)
* Load, validate, and reconcile data within platforms such as Apptio or similar TBM tools
* Perform regular data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
* Support platform administration, including user access and role provisioning
* Troubleshoot data and reporting issues, escalating where necessary
* Collaborate with finance, IT, and data teams to support budgeting and forecasting cycles
* Maintain documentation of data processes and workflows
* Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or similar role
* Strong SQL and experience with data validation and transformation
* Familiarity with financial data (e.g., General Ledger, cost reporting)
* Experience with TBM tools (e.g., Apptio) or financial planning platforms is highly desirable
* Understanding of data quality frameworks and governance practices
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Nice to Have
* Experience in finance or IT cost management environments
* Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* Knowledge of automation tools or scripting (Python preferred)
