Who We Are Supporting
The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
* Cyber Security: Advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO's communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
* Command and Control Systems: Systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations.
* Satellite Communications: Secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
* Electronic Warfare: Support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
* Information Management: Management of NATO's IT infrastructure, including databases, applications, and servers.
The program
Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)
The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide IT infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.
To provide these critical services, NCI Agency needs a high performance‑engaged workforce. The workforce consists of three major categories: NATO International Civilians (NIC), Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC). The IWCs make up approximately 15 % of the total workforce.

Role Duties And Responsibilities
NATO Cyber Security Centre is one of the largest fully integrated global Cyber Defence capabilities in the world. The role requires working with an international team of 250+ NATO and Industry analysts and engineers to operate and maintain the wide range of Cyber Security services and complex infrastructure installed at over 100 sites in all 32 NATO member countries.
Essential Skills, Experience And Certifications
* 3‑year experience with Linux server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance on RHEL.
* Software engineering skills, including programming and/or scripting knowledge, Python scripting.
* 1 year experience with Ansible.
* Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
* Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures on Linux systems (e.g., firewalls, encryption, access control).
* Candidate holds or has held Linux/Unix related certifications.
Desirable Skills, Experience And Certifications
* Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RCSA) preferred or similar.
* Strong understanding of Red Hat Satellite.
* Experience supporting the DevOps approach in a large organization.
* Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in the Linux ecosystem.
* Proven ability to understand and design how different system layers (Application, Container, Network and Infra) work together and interact.
