Onsite IT Support Engineer
Location: Ghent, Belgium
Duration: 12 month extendable contract
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Onsite IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. This role is fully onsite and will act as the primary point of contact for end-user IT support, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of IT services.
You will support a diverse user base, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and collaborate closely with regional and global IT teams to maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide onsite Level 2 IT support for end users, including executives and lab-based staff
* Diagnose and resolve issues related to Windows laptops/desktops, peripherals, printers, and mobile devices
* Support Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and Active Directory user management
* Perform hardware installations, replacements, and upgrades
* Manage tickets via an ITSM tool, ensuring SLA compliance and high user satisfaction
* Support meeting rooms, AV equipment, and video conferencing systems
* Assist with onboarding/offboarding (account setup, device provisioning, access management)
* Work closely with global IT, security, and infrastructure teams
* Follow ITIL-based processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and regulatory standards
Required Skills & Experience
* 3+ years’ experience in onsite IT support / desktop support roles
* Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
* Experience supporting enterprise environments with high security and compliance requirements
* Solid troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking basics
* Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
* Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
* Ability to work independently in an onsite role
* Fluent in English and Dutch
