HARDWARE ENGINEER - LEUVEN (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION

We're currently recruiting for a Hardware Engineer who will join a engineering team, with primary responsibility for the design, development, and validation of analog and digital electronic hardware.
This role involves hands-on ownership of hardware designs from early concept and schematic development through prototyping, testing, and production support.
As a Hardware Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing, to build reliable, high-performance electronic systems.
You’ll be involved in both creative design work and practical lab-based activities, including debugging, performance evaluation, and iterative improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits, including schematic capture and component selection
* Collaborate on PCB layout, reviewing designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
* Build, test, and debug hardware prototypes to validate functionality and performance
* Conduct hardware testing and validation, including power measurements, signal integrity checks, and environmental or stress testing
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues throughout development and early production phases
* Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, test plans, and design reports
* Support transition from prototype to production, assisting with manufacturing bring-up and issue resolution
* Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of hardware design processes
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
* 3+ years of professional, industry experience
* Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design
* Hands-on experience with electronics prototyping, xphnsxz testing, and debugging
* Proficiency with common lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, etc.)
* Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle, OrCAD, or similar)
* Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals, including power, timing, noise, and signal integrity
