You have a master in (medical) physics, engineering, bio-engineering, informatics or you are equivalent through experienceKnowledge of IT, data management and file storage structures, programming, nuclear medicine and/or dedicated data processing pipelines (including kinetic modelling, SPM, Freesurfer, Matlab/Python, statistical image analysis tools and clinical/preclinical software packages) is a plusExperience in working in a contract research/industry setting is a plusYou are dynamic, have good communication skills and eager to work supportively in a teamYou have excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written. Van Laere) and in close collaboration with the medical physics team for scanner- and data-related management and with research technologists and physician-researchersYou interact with commercial partners to streamline contract research studies and are the primary contact for data processing and transferThis is a supportive position to maximize research output and valorisationKU Leuven has a unique centre for PET-imaging, with a fully GMP-certified production site, that is currently being expanded with a second facility, and a track record of over 20 worldwide first-in-man studies with novel radiotracers. Our fully equipped clinical imaging research infrastructure includes state-of-the-art cameras including the ultra-high-performance NeuroEXPLORER for research, 2 clinical PET/CT systems and 3 SPECT/CT systems. Our overall programme aims to develop novel quantitative imaging biomarkers for improved clinical diagnostics, pathophysiological research, and drug development for both CNS disease and theranostics. We are hiring a supporting technical and data manager with primary focus on NeuroExplorer operations and general research data management, including support in image analysis, kinetic modelling of clinical data, as well as data management coordination. The ideal candidate would be driven by the desire to support innovation in PET, data management and workflow optimization for academic and contract research. You will be working closely with a team of PIs in imaging of CNS and other disorders, and will collaborate closely with medical physicists at the University Hospital and KU Leuven University. You will apply, develop, and optimise PET data acquisition and processing pipelines, manage the department’s imaging database of research CNS PET and collaborate with internal UZ/KU Leuven and external academic and industry partners with on-time and professional delivery of project results and share your expertise with PhDs and postdoctoral researchers. You will join a multidisciplinary team of medical doctors, physicists, engineers and technologists at the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging department at the University Hospital and KU Leuven in clinical imaging researchWe offer an exciting working environment aimed at inclusive and supportive collaboration and professionality with the aim of translating cutting edge research to highly innovative patient care in a university hospital settingMultiple contacts with industrial pharmaceutical and imaging partnersWe offer a fixed-term contract of 1 year, which can be long-term prolonged upon successful evaluation. Promising candidates who cannot yet take on all tasks right away, or who still need to complete a specific training programme, will start in grade 6. Grade 8 is reserved, exceptionally, for candidates who can take on additional responsibilities from the start due to their advanced knowledge and experience.Relocation facilities can be foreseen through KU Leuven.
