Key Responsibilities
Perform design development in several project phases (e.g., conceptual design, front‐end design, detailed engineering and design, and plant commissioning) for integration of new facilities in revamp type projects as well as for 'small' grass‐root type projects.
Input to Basic Engineering Design Packages and write contractor's scope of work.
Supervision, planning and organization of the work:
Lead and coordinate a piping design team; assign, monitor and manage the work.
Prepare schedules, estimates, manpower forecasts and apply change‐risk management.
Communicate and align with clients, vendors and other disciplines.
Supervise and act as a mentor for a group of junior and intermediate level designers.
Promote and support value improvement initiatives and continuous performance improvement.
Interpret, set up and mark up of P&ID's.
Interpret, set up and mark up line designation lists.
Participate in design reviews within the project team.
Work independently and control/lead small teams.
Have practical knowledge of field installations.
Assure the quality of assigned work and the technical integrity of design documents.
Provide proactive reporting of project status and constraints to project management and the department manager.
Basic Job Requirements
+10 years of relevant working experience with an engineering contractor or production company.
Extensive practical field experience.
Working knowledge of and ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), update master P&ID and piping line lists.
Understanding of pertinent design codes, governing regulations and industry practices.
Knowledge of PED requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Master's in engineering or equivalent.
Leadership skills.
Extensive knowledge of piping design.
Fluency in both Dutch and English (written and verbal communication with clients is required in both languages).
Strong interpersonal skills.
to multitask between several projects and willingness to travel to multiple project locations.
