Within an IT organization, the IT Financial Controller plays a key role in ensuring financial visibility, control, and coordination between IT and Finance. The IT department operates as a shared service center supporting multiple entities and external partners. This results in: Complex cost structures (infrastructure, software, external providers) Cross-entity cost allocations Multiple stakeholders The main objective is to ensure: Financial transparency Accurate forecasting Strong cost control The role also acts as a bridge between technical teams and finance stakeholders, translating operational and technical data into financial insights. Short-term priority: Ensure continuity of financial controlling activities Long-term objective: Improve financial processes, governance, and cost transparency Role description Financial Planning & Forecasting Prepare and maintain financial forecasts for IT activities Contribute to periodic forecasting cycles Support annual IT budget preparation Anticipate future costs based on commitments and operational needs Analyze variances between forecast, budget, and actuals Financial Monitoring & Cost Control Ensure visibility on all IT financial commitments Monitor operational and project-related costs Analyze financial performance of IT services Support cost classification and allocation Purchase Orders & Commitments Management Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) Ensure documentation and traceability of commitments Monitor committed vs invoiced costs Validate alignment between contracts and financial data Improve purchasing processes and documentation standards Profil Experience Minimum 15 years of experience in Finance Strong experience in financial controlling, analysis, or financial management Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost monitoring Contract management experience Good understanding of accounting principles Technical Skills (Mandatory) Advanced Excel Financial reporting and accounting Financial analysis and controlling Nice to have Experience in an IT environment Knowledge of ISO 9001 Languages French: Fluent English: Fluent Dutch: Nice to have Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance Soft skills: Accuracy and attention to detail Strong analytical mindset Good communication skills Team player Risk awareness Organizational awareness Autonomy Problem-solving mindset Pragmatic and rigorous approach
