We are seeking a freelance Electrical Engineer to support the design, installation, commissioning, and optimization of electrical systems in a food production facility in the Antwerp area. This role focuses solely on electrical infrastructure, power distribution, and industrial plant systems.
Design, install, and commission electrical systems for production lines, utilities, and auxiliary equipment.Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit studies, and power distribution network analysis.Perform testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical installations in accordance with Belgian electrical codes and safety standards.Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective actions to ensure continuous production.Collaborate with mechanical and maintenance teams to integrate electrical systems into plant operations.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industrial standards, and energy efficiency guidelines.
5+ years' experience in electrical engineering within food & beverage or industrial manufacturing environments.~ Strong knowledge of low- and medium-voltage systems, motor control, and industrial power distribution.~ Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems.~ Familiarity with Belgian and European electrical codes (AREI / IEC standards).~ Fluent in English.~ Eligible to work as a freelance contractor in Belgium.~ Available for full-time on-site work in Antwerp.
Experience with energy optimization, harmonics analysis, and power factor correction.Knowledge of industrial lighting, UPS systems, and backup power solutions.Experience in high-throughput or 24/7 production environments.
