Overview A global organisation in the food sector is seeking an experienced
Supply Chain Analyst
to support its European operations team. This is a
freelance contract role (minimum 12 months)
based in
East Flanders, operating in a
hybrid working model
(typically 2–3 days onsite). Working within a high-volume food manufacturing environment, the successful consultant will help improve
supply chain visibility, planning accuracy, and operational efficiency
across production and distribution networks. The role will involve close collaboration with planning, procurement, logistics and manufacturing teams across Europe.
Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Analytics Analyse supply chain data across demand, production, inventory and distribution. Identify inefficiencies and provide actionable insights to improve service levels and reduce costs. Build dashboards and reports to monitor key supply chain KPIs. Planning & Forecast Support Support demand and supply planning teams with data analysis and forecasting insights. Evaluate forecast accuracy and highlight improvement opportunities. Assist in S&OP preparation through scenario modelling and reporting. Inventory & Network Optimisation Monitor inventory levels across plants and distribution centres. Identify stock imbalances, slow movers, and excess inventory risks. Support initiatives to optimise safety stock and working capital. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with supply planners, logistics teams, procurement and manufacturing. Present analytical insights to operational and management stakeholders. Contribute to cross-functional supply chain improvement projects. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and planning processes. Support automation of recurring analyses and reporting tools. Contribute to digital transformation initiatives within the supply chain function.
Required Skills & Experience Experience Proven experience in
supply chain analytics. Experience within
FMCG, food manufacturing, consumer goods, or manufacturing supply chains
preferred. Experience working in
complex, multi-site European supply chains
is advantageous. Technical Skills Advanced
Excel
and strong analytical capabilities. Experience with
Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools. Familiarity with
ERP systems (SAP, APO, or similar). Experience with demand planning or supply planning systems is beneficial. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate data into clear operational insights. Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration.
