We're looking for a Finance Officer The Finance Officer (Finance & Business Controlling) will build and own the financial controlling framework of the company. This includes introducing discipline in AP/AR processes, establishing a reliable monthly closing cycle, implementing an ERP system (in phases), handling operational finance request and pricing governance, and ensuring full BEGAAP compliance. You acts as the right hand of the Finance Manager and a partner to business stakeholders (Sales, Customer Care, LGC, HR, Applications,…) to translate data into insights, improve margins and cashflow, and support the company’s scale-up trajectory. FINANCIAL CONTROLLING FRAMEWORK SETUP 1. AP/AR Process Redesign & Internal Controls Debtor management - Set up credit control policies : onboarding checks, credit limits, payment terms standardization, Vendor management - Establish supplier validation procedures (vendor master data quality, duplicate check, bank verification,…). Implement treasury procedures by setting up payment rounds, implement segmentation in AP (OPEX, CAPEX, subscriptions, recurring vendors, one-offs,…). Ensure segregation of duties between part-time accountant (booking) and controller (review, validation, release) ⇒ write procedures with controlling principles (step-wise execution checks to ensure 100% data correctness in the monthly closing process). Design proper approval workflows BEFORE booking (3-way matching for AP where possible; contract → order → invoice flow for AR) to be implemented after adoption of the ERP solution. 2. Establish Monthly Closing Process: Create and own a structured month-end closing checklist aligned with BEGAAP, manage and align with accountant: AR & Debtor Management Aged debtor analysis, follow-up escalation, DSO tracking. Revenue recognition checks (SaaS contracts, deferrals, multi-period revenue,…). Review of billings, MRR/Churn adjustments and reconciliation to GL. AP & Creditor Management Supplier ageing, cut-off testing, outstanding purchase orders, SRNI, accrual accuracy. Cost controlling: variance analysis on OPEX, subscriptions, marketing, R&D capitalization rules. General Accounting Operations Payroll statement check and bookings. Fixed asset register maintenance, D&A validation. VAT check, VAT netting mechanism, reconciliation of 411/451 BEGAAP accounts. Provision calculations (legal, warranties, vacation days, doubtful debt, bonus,…). Manual journals review & GL account creation controls. Reporting 3-statement monthly reporting package (P&L, BS, CF) with comments. Variance analysis versus budget, forecast, prior year. Specific analysis: CAPEX / Working capital / Cash flow analysis BUSINESS CONTROLLING: FINANCE BOARD SETUP AND MANAGEMENT 1. Pricing board management Setup and manage operational rate card related requests. Take ownership over Pricing Committees. Propose process and governance improvements. Support pricing strategy & profitability modelling. 2. Treat ad-hoc operational finance requests 3. Handle ad-hoc invoicing Execute existing invoice processes to maintain business continuity. Suggest improvements to current invoice processes. C. ERP project assistance Manage data cleaning request s. Identify and document (in Confluence) accounting processes to prepare internalization of accounting tasks. 3. Audit assistance Document auditing process & preparation. Assist in internalizing the financial audit process. Who are we looking for? Degree: You have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in a business, or financial related field (or equal by experience). Experience: You have 3-5 years of experience in a financial department of an organization. Expected knowledge: You are tech-savvy data-champion who is eager to grow & learn, and you know your way with Office applications (Proficiency in MS Excel). Excellent financial analytical skills, experience with accounting/finance (reporting) software.
