We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Design & Test Engineer to join our team in Brussels and contribute to cutting-edge railway signaling projects. In this multifaceted role, you will be involved in the entire cycle from data collection during the design phase to rigorous testing of signaling systems, ensuring safety and reliability on the railway network.
Mission
Data Collection & Analysis: Organize and execute data gathering activities such as speed, topography, and other relevant parameters. Develop comprehensive measurement plans outlining routes on the railway network to ensure accurate data acquisition.
Field Measurement Operations: Participate directly in measurement trips aboard survey trains, ensuring precise data collection for system design.
Data Verification: Receive, process, and verify collected data to maintain high quality standards for subsequent analysis and design.
Signaling System Design: Collaborate in the design and re-design of signaling installations, contributing technical expertise to improve system performance and safety.
Testing & Validation: Lead various testing phases using test benches to verify signal-to-balance communication and other system integrations.
Conduct detailed tests to validate incoming data streams.
Perform on-site final tests alongside test trains to ensure system readiness and compliance.
Profile
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
Experience with ETCS (European Train Control System) is highly preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong command of Dutch or French at native level; operational knowledge of the second national language and English is required.
Hands-on experience (1-4 years) with railway signaling systems, data collection, and testing processes is an advantage.
