SAP Project Manager (12-Month Contract) - Hybrid in Leuven
A world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technology is looking for an experienced SAP Project Manager for a 12-month contract. Based in Leuven, Belgium, this role is offered on a hybrid basis, requiring three days per week on-site to successfully align with internal platform owners and global stakeholders.
The company is seeking a seasoned professional to lead international rollouts and ensure the successful deployment of its global SAP S4 template alongside other core applications.
The Role
As the primary point of contact for complex SAP delivery, you will manage the full project lifecycle from strategic rollout planning to operational handover.
Key responsibilities
* Rollout Strategy & Governance: Defining deployment sequencing across multiple countries, creating detailed cutover plans, and ensuring strict adherence to the global SAP S4 template while balancing local requirements.
* Planning & Execution: Developing comprehensive project plans (covering work breakdowns, budgets, risks, and dependencies) and driving execution in line with pragmatic methodologies and quality gating.
* Stakeholder & Platform Alignment: Coordinating diverse internal teams, external ICT vendors, and non-SAP platform owners to achieve unified go-live milestones.
* Change & Handover: Leading business communication, user training, and post-go-live support, followed by a structured knowledge transfer to operational support partners.
* Reporting: Establishing robust project governance and regularly reporting progress, budgets, and risks to the ICT Business Partner, Team Leader, and ICT PMO Manager.
Profile & Experience
* Education: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
* Project Management Experience: A minimum of 8 years of dedicated project management experience, with a proven track record delivering complex projects in fast-paced environments.
* Methodologies: Strong, practical knowledge of frameworks such as SAP Activate, PRINCE2, or SAFe.
* Technical Domain Assets: Prior experience within SAP Project Delivery is highly preferred. Hands-on exposure to any SAP module (e.g., Finance, HR SuccessFactors, Procurement) or experience with Azure DevOps is a significant asset.
* Key Skills: An analytical, no-nonsense team player who excels at motivating cross-functional teams and building relationships across all levels of a business. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
