Role Summary
We are seeking two experienced Senior Data Engineers to support the delivery of high-performance, state-of-the-art data engineering solutions on a modern Azure-based cloud platform leveraging Databricks and Power BI.
The selected candidates will collaborate with IT analysts and end-users to understand requirements, deliver solutions, and support testing. They will also provide coaching to ensure effective platform adoption, and contribute to defining and promoting standard data engineering practices across the organization.
A core focus of the mission is the migration of on-premises pipelines and databases (SQL Server and SAP Data Services) to the cloud-based data platform (Databricks/Python).
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure solutions meet requirements
* Deliver high-quality solutions in line with established standards
* Conduct thorough testing and resolve issues identified during development
* Provide technical guidance, standards and support to the data engineering team
* Support and coach end users through demos, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching
* Assess as-is on-premises solutions (SQL Server, SAP Data Services) and design/implement to-be solutions on the data platform
* Define and promote data engineering guidelines across the organization
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Experience
* Proven experience in data engineering projects, particularly with Databricks and Azure cloud services
* Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data integration techniques, data warehousing and lakehouse architectures, and performance tuning
* Proficient in Databricks, Python, PySpark, Git, Apache Airflow, and SQL
* Experience with data formats: XML, XSD, JSON, CSV, SQL, Parquet
