Location: Belgium or abroad, remote work possible
Reports to: CEO & Private Equity Sponsor
About the Company
For one of our clients, a recently launched, entrepreneurial and private equity backed technology platform (2M-5M EBITDA), we are seeking to appoint a Group CFO. The CFO will be an integral part of the founding team, participating to the entire buy & build journey and providing financial leadership through to the next stages of growth.
The Role
As Group CFO, you will act as the CEO and sponsor’s strategic finance partner, with full responsibility for consolidation, integration, cash & capital, and controls. You will play a central role in building a scalable finance function, leading M&A, and ultimately ensuring a smooth and successful exit.
Key Responsibilities
Year 1 — Stabilize & Standardize
* Establish a single source of truth in Odoo, aligning the chart of accounts and finance policies.
* Drive a faster and more reliable monthly close process.
* Deliver board-ready reporting with covenant and cash discipline.
* Lead post-merger integration across entities.
Years 2–3 — Scale & Finance the Plan
* Lead bolt-on M&A from diligence through integration.
* Shape the financing strategy, including refinancing, capital structure optimization, and FX.
* Build scalable shared services (AP/AR/T&E) and performance analytics to unlock growth and cash.
Years 4–5 — Prepare & Deliver the Exit
* Partner with the CEO and sponsor on exit readiness — equity story, long-range planning, and clean due diligence preparation.
* Coordinate with advisors to deliver a no-surprises sell-side process.
* Ensure strong forward-looking performance to maximize valuation.
The profile sought
We are looking for an experienced finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, PE-backed environments and has successfully guided businesses through growth, integration, and exit.
Must-have experience
* CFO or senior finance leader (#2) in a private equity–owned company, with a track record of delivering sponsor-level reporting.
* Hands-on experience with group consolidation across multiple entities and currencies (EU + US).
* Proven expertise in cash forecasting, debt covenant management, banking relationships, and FX.
* Strong background in finance policies, controls, and operational execution.
* Experience leading and developing small, international finance teams.
Nice-to-have experience
* Odoo (or ERP rollout/consolidation).
* Post-acquisition integration.
* Industry background in B2B SaaS, data, or tech-enabled services.
* Familiarity with EU VAT and US sales tax.
* Building shared services and BI/reporting frameworks.
