Hospitality with class: join our wait staff on the Korenlei terrace
The Ghent Marriott Hotel is looking for a waiter/waitress to join our team in the Midtown Grill restaurant, bar, on the riverside terrace at the Korenlei, or during events. You will ensure guests feel welcome and enjoy a delightful experience from aperitif to dessert. If you are committed to friendly and attentive service, have an eye for detail, and thrive in a lively environment – we would love to meet you!
A behind-the-scenes look at your role
1. You are the face of our sunny Korenlei terrace: warmly welcoming guests, seating them, and delivering excellent service.
2. You take orders, offer menu suggestions, and serve drinks and meals with flair – often managing multiple tables simultaneously.
3. You maintain a clean and tidy terrace throughout the service, even during busy periods.
4. You work closely with the bar and kitchen teams to ensure smooth and prompt service.
5. You handle payments accurately and end each visit with a positive guest experience.
6. You report issues or complaints to your supervisor and help maintain a professional and upbeat team atmosphere
Who are we looking for?
7. Experience as a waiter or in a similar role is a strong asset, but not required – your motivation and customer-oriented mindset matter most.
8. You are flexible and available for shifts between 7:00 and 23:00, including weekends and holidays.
9. You are a team player with an eye for detail and a good sense of pace.
10. You have strong communication skills and speak fluent Dutch or English (additional languages are a plus!).
11. You are looking for either full-time (38h) or part-time work.
