JOB DESCRIPTION
Section 1: PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Senior Accountant will be part of the Brussels HQ CFS team and will report to the Senior Manager Entity Controlling. The Senior Accountant will be first point of contact of all inventory related topics.
Section 2: ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work closely together with our Shared Service Organization (CFS HUB) and external accounting firms to drive the month-end closing process.
2. Support account reconciliation and maintenance in close cooperation with CFS HUB
3. Support & collaborate with Transparency lead to ensure a timely & correct Transparency reporting
4. Ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act by maintaining accurate financial records and robust internal controls.
5. Coordinate and facilitate the internal and external audit processes, specifically focusing on inventory-related matters.
6. Serve as the key point of contact for cross-functional coordination between Accounting and all Abbott divisions.
Section 3: EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
7. Bachelor degree Accounting/Finance
8. Minimum 5 years of experience
9. Experience in a multinational environment of a US-based corporation
10. Strong US GAAP and ideally local accounting knowledge and skills
11. Experience with close processes for quarterly and year-end
12. Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion is a strong asset
13. Tax and VAT knowledge is a strong asset
14. Fast Learner with high degree of motivation
15. Independent worker, but not afraid to ask questions
16. Result oriented: meet deadlines and focus on quality
17. Language skills: English and 1 local language
