FIELD APPLICATION ENGINEER - BRUSSELS REGION (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITIONAbout the Role:As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) specializing in Power Electronics, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between cutting-edge product development and practical customer implementation. You will work closely with our sales, product development, and engineering teams to provide deep technical insight, enabling our customers to successfully adopt and integrate our power solutions into their end applications.This is a customer-facing role that requires a blend of strong technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal communication. You will be responsible for understanding customer requirements at a system level, recommending appropriate power solutions, and ensuring their successful implementation through the product life cycle—from concept to production.Your expertise will be critical in guiding customers through design trade-offs, regulatory considerations (like EMI/EMC compliance), thermal management, and reliability analysis. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, offering guidance on everything from component selection to system-level integration, while also collecting valuable market feedback to influence future product development.The position combines technical depth with dynamic fieldwork, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy solving real-world problems in customer environments and influencing product innovation from the front lines.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and provide pre- and post-sales technical support for power electronics applications.Support customers during all phases of the product design cycle, including architecture definition, component selection, circuit design, validation, and troubleshooting.Deliver technical presentations, product demos, and hands-on training to customers, partners, and distributors.Assist customers with the integration and optimization of semiconductor devices, gate drivers, controllers, and modules.Provide detailed technical documentation such as application notes, reference designs, and technical white papers.Coordinate with internal product, R&D, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and influence future product development.Participate in design reviews, customer site visits, and technical workshops.Maintain a pulse on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to provide informed insights to both customers and internal stakeholders.Travel as needed to support customer engagements (typically 20–40%).Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in power electronics design, system integration, or field applications engineering.Solid understanding of power conversion principles and semiconductor technologies.Experience with power topologies (buck, boost, PFC, LLC, full-bridge, etc.) and control strategies (analog/digital).Familiar with simulation and design tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or LTspice.Proficient in using lab equipment: oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, etc.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Self-motivated and comfortable working independently or as part of a cross-functional team.The Offer:A permanent, full-time employment contractA salary & benefits package commensurate with experiencePlease send over your CV to tom.walker@vividresourcing.com or call me on +32 (0) 3 318 00 74.
