Our client, a reputable player in the banking sector, is currently looking for a Credit Risk Officer to join their risk management team in Brussels. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of credit risk within financial institutions. Job Description Assess the creditworthiness of corporate and retail clients, including financial statement analysis and risk rating assignment. Prepare and present credit proposals for internal approval committees. Monitor the credit portfolio to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with internal risk policies and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the development and improvement of credit risk models, scoring systems, and limit frameworks. Collaborate closely with front-office teams, compliance, legal, and other risk functions. Participate in the periodic review and stress-testing of credit portfolios. Support the implementation of risk-related projects and regulatory initiatives (e.g., Basel III/IV, EBA guidelines). Maintain thorough documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Your Profile Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a credit risk or credit analysis role, preferably in the banking sector. Solid knowledge of financial analysis, credit risk principles, and regulatory requirements. Proficient in risk assessment tools, Excel, and ideally exposure to risk systems or data analysis tools. Fluent in English (mandatory) and in either French or Dutch. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with great attention to detail. Clear communicator, able to present complex information in a structured and concise manner. Team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude.
