Are you a Machine Learning Engineer looking to push the boundaries of AI compute solutions?
You’ll be part of a team working on cutting-edge AI models, algorithms, and performance optimization techniques for everything from small-scale edge devices to large-scale distributed and hybrid architectures.
This role sits within the AI Models group, which focuses on algorithmic and application research to drive software-hardware co-optimization and develop novel ML/Hybrid-AI methods for industries such as semiconductor processing and healthcare.
What You’ll Do:
* Represent and model AI/ML workloads for performance evaluation of exascale systems
* Analyse AI models/workloads to create benchmarks and mini-apps for performance testing
* Study performance optimization of deep learning workloads for exascale systems
* Explore emerging AI/ML algorithms for custom architectures to enable SW-HW codesign
* Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML research and implement state-of-the-art techniques
* Contribute to high-impact international projects such as the EuroHPC DARE project, aimed at advancing Europe’s independence in high-performance computing and AI

Your skills:
* PhD or Masters Degree
* Strong background in parallel programming with proven skills in CUDA and Python
* Experience with modern Deep Learning frameworks (PyTorch being the most important)
* Familiarity with distributed training tools (Ray, Dask, PyTorch Lightning)
* Knowledge of optimization techniques (quantization, pruning, distributed training)
* Skilled in software performance analysis and optimization
* Prior experience in AI optimization for compute architectures is a plus
* Understanding of performance analysis tools and hardware optimization
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* Fluent in English
