As part of the expansion of our engineering teams, Verdon, an EPC company specialized in complex industrial projects, is looking for a Piping & Structures Stress Engineer to support multidisciplinary projects in energy, oil & gas, chemical, data centers, and pharmaceutical industries .

YOUR ROLE
As a Piping & Structures Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for piping flexibility analysis and steel structure calculations, ensuring full compliance with European and international standards .
You will work closely with piping designers, structural engineers, and project managers to guarantee mechanical integrity, constructability, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Piping Stress Analysis
Perform stress and flexibility analyses of industrial piping systems
Apply applicable codes and standards:
ASME B31.1 / B31.3 / B31.8
EN 13480
Evaluate:
thermal expansion
sustained and occasional loads
wind and seismic effects
Analyse nozzle loads on pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment ( API 610, API 661 )
Design and validate piping supports (rigid, spring, and dynamic supports)
Perform piping stress calculations using CAESAR II
Design and verify steel structures, pipe racks, platforms, and frames
Apply:
Eurocodes EN 1990 / EN 1991 / EN 1993
EN 13445
Create and interpret FEM models
Perform load combinations, stability checks, deflection analysis, and buckling verification
Perform structural stress analysis using SCIA and Robot Structural Analysis
Stress and flexibility calculation reports
Steel structure and FEM analysis reports
Load plans and technical calculation notes
Full documentation compliant with PED and client specifications
Participate in technical reviews and multidisciplinary meetings
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, engineering partners, and client engineering departments
YOUR PROFILE
Experience & Background
Engineering degree with minimum 5 years of experience in piping stress analysis and/or structural mechanics
Experience in EPC and industrial project environments is highly valued
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency with:
CAESAR II
SCIA
Robot Structural Analysis
Solid knowledge of:
ASME B31 codes, EN 13480 / EN 13445
Eurocodes
API 610, API 661 and relevant API standards
Seismic and wind engineering principles
PED compliance
Soft Skills
Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented
Able to manage multiple tasks in parallel
Stress-resistant and deadline-driven
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proactive and solution-focused mindset
LANGUAGES
French is a plus
