About our client

Our client is an international leader in advanced control and automation systems for both residential and commercial environments. They provide integrated solutions for managing technology in spaces such as meeting rooms, corporate boardrooms, classrooms, homes, and hotels—covering lighting, shades, audio/video, climate, and more. AV systems & events engineer / Tradeshow engineer


Role overview


The tradeshow engineer is an essential member of the tradeshow team and contributes to the successful execution of major events, trade shows, and permanent experience centers across the EMEA region. This role combines meticulous preparation with high-quality on-site execution. All setups—often complex systems used for exhibition stands and experience centers—are designed, configured, and programmed at the Belgian headquarters. You will then travel across the EMEA region to complete professional installation, commissioning, and later de-installation of all technical systems and exhibition setups.


Your key responsibilities


• Programming & system configuration: Developing, loading, configuring and troubleshooting custom programs using our client’s control platforms and programming environments (e.g., SIMPL, Crestron Home, Crestron Construct), including integrations with 3rd-party devices such as lighting (DALI, DMX), climate control (BACnet), and display systems.

• In-house testing: Fully testing and configuring all systems before shipment to avoid issues on-site.

• Logistics: Preparing, picking, and shipping all products and equipment needed for events and following up on transported goods.

• On-site installation & troubleshooting: Installing equipment on walls or booth structures, connecting, testing, and ensuring full operational readiness before show opening.

• Product demonstration & technical support: Acting as a subject matter expert at certain events, demonstrating solutions and answering technical questions from customers and partners.

• Booth construction: Building modular stands for smaller events.

• Stock management: Managing and tracking event-related stock using dedicated tools.

• Continuous learning: Keeping up to date with rapidly evolving A/V technologies through training sessions, online courses, and monthly webinars.

• Travel: Travelling throughout the EMEA region for approximately 40 days per year, including some weekends, sometimes alone and sometimes with team members.


What you bring


• Solid understanding of general networking fundamentals and configurations.

• Experience with A/V control systems (experience with the client’s technologies is a strong advantage).

• Programming affinity (HTML5 or general programming concepts are a plus).

• Passion for electronics and cutting-edge technology.

• Team player with a hands-on, can-do mentality.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch.

• High energy, proactive attitude, and eagerness to learn.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Flexibility and willingness to travel (approx. 20% of your time, including some weekends).
